Job Description:
The President is the chief executive officer of IMUA, is an elected officer and is a salaried position. The President is empowered in Section 1.(d) of the By-Laws with “…sole charge and management of its affairs subject to such direction and control as may be exercised by the Board of Directors...”. He/she shall employ such assistants as in his/her judgment may be necessary subject to Board approval. The President & CEO may call a special meeting of the Board of Directors upon his/her own authority.
The following are the current major duties and responsibilities of the President & CEO:
- Hiring (or discharge), direction and performance evaluation of staff, and the establishment and maintenance of appropriate working conditions.
- Ultimate responsibility for receipt, disbursement, oversight and use of Association funds. With the Vice President & Secretary, Vice Chairman and the Finance Committee, responsibility to determine annual budget. Responsibility to account for and report on all financial and administrative matters as required.
- Consult with IMUA Officers and/or Board Members as respects actual or proposed IMUA policies. Responsibility to assist in articulating IMUA policies, including responsibility for the implementation of all policies adopted by the Board of Directors.
- Coordinate with Committee Chairmen and Committee Members to schedule and support productive projects, meetings and Association seminars.
- With the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Vice Chairman, set objectives and plans and ensure for their fulfillment; to encourage volunteer participation; and responsibility for identifying and developing potential future IMUA leadership.
Reporting Relationships: The President shall be responsible to the Board of Directors and shall report directly to the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Location: Remote
Salary: $175,000 - $250,000
